Privacy

Last updated 8 September 2026.

ShopMouse is run by Mousetech Studios. This page says what we hold about you, who else sees it, and what happens when you ask us to stop. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

What we hold

  • Your account. An email address, and a display name if you set one. If you sign in with Google we receive your email address and name from Google, and nothing else.
  • What you upload. Photographs of your own things, and whatever you write about them: a name, notes, a brand, a size, who an item belongs to.
  • Orders. What you bought or sold, when, for how much, and the delivery address you gave.
  • Messages. What buyers and sellers write to each other about an order.
  • If you sell. A business or legal name, a contact address, and your payout details. The payout details are held by Stripe, not by us.

We do not hold your card number. It goes to Stripe and never touches our servers. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers, and there is no tracking cookie on this site.

One account, four apps

ShopMouse, Door Decorator, Pixie Packer and Fish Extender share one sign-in. Creating an account in any of them creates the account you use here. Your identity is shared between them; your closet, your orders and your messages are not, and stay in the app you put them in.

Your photographs, and where they are stored

Photographs are stored with Supabase. They are held in a bucket that serves any file to anybody who has its address, and each address is a long random string that is not listed anywhere and is not guessable. Nothing links to a photograph of an item you have not put on sale, but the address itself is not a secret, and anybody you send one to can keep it. If that is not what you want for a particular photograph, do not upload it.

When you upload a photograph we send it to OpenAI, which reads it and suggests what the item is, so you do not have to type it. If you ask us to remove the background from a photograph, we send it to Replicate, which does that and sends back the result. Both are given the photograph and nothing else: not your name, not your email, not your account.

Who else sees your information

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising. These are the companies that handle some of it in order to make the site work:

  • Supabase, for sign-in and for storing photographs.
  • Stripe, for taking payments and paying sellers. Stripe holds card and payout details.
  • EasyPost, for postage prices and shipping labels. It receives the delivery address on an order that is being posted.
  • OpenAI, for reading an uploaded photograph.
  • Replicate, for removing a background when you ask.
  • Laravel Cloud and Amazon Web Services, where the site itself runs.

Some of these are in the United States, so your information is processed there.

What the other person in a sale sees

A seller sees the delivery address and name you gave for that order, because they have to post you the thing. A buyer sees the seller's shop name. Neither sees the other's email address; messages about an order go through this site.

Cookies

One cookie, which keeps you signed in and protects forms against being submitted from another site. It is not shared with anybody and it is not used to follow you around. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

How long we keep it

Your closet and your account stay until you delete them. Orders are kept for as long as tax and payment rules require us to be able to answer questions about them, which is seven years in most cases.

Deleting your account, and the part we cannot delete

You can delete your account from your account page. When you do, we erase your name, your email address, your avatar and, if you sold here, your shop's name, story and images. Your email address is replaced with one that can never receive mail.

The orders themselves stay, holding nobody's name. This is not us keeping something back. A marketplace that can erase half of a completed sale cannot answer a chargeback, a refund, a tax question, or the other person in that sale asking what happened. Two things are deliberately kept with it: the reference Stripe needs to process a refund on a past order, and the shop name as it was on somebody else's receipt, because a receipt should not change because a seller left.

You cannot delete an account while an order is still in flight or money is still owed. Finish or cancel those first, and the site will tell you which.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to the paragraph above. Write to privacy@mousetechstudios.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the UK or the EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Children

ShopMouse is not for people under 13, and we do not knowingly hold information about anybody under 13. A closet item can be tagged with a child's first name so a parent can sort their own closet; that name is a label a parent typed and is not an account, and we hold nothing else about that child. If you believe a child has an account here, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change what we collect or who it goes to, we change this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant we will email you about it.
