Terms of service
ShopMouse is run by Mousetech Studios. Using it means agreeing to what is on this page. It is written plainly on purpose.
What ShopMouse is
A marketplace where people sell things they own and small shops sell things they make. We are not the seller. We provide the place, take the payment, hold it until the thing arrives, and pay the seller.
ShopMouse is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to The Walt Disney Company, and all trademarks belong to their owners.
Your account
You need to be 13 or over. One account per person. Keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell us if you think somebody else has it. The same account works across ShopMouse, Door Decorator, Pixie Packer and Fish Extender.
Buying
When you pay, the money is held rather than passed straight to the seller. It is released to them after the item is delivered, or ten days after delivery if nothing has gone wrong and you have not told us otherwise. If something has gone wrong, raise it on the order and the money stays where it is until it is sorted out.
You will see the state of that money on your order and the date it is expected to move. You will not see the seller's figure, because what they are paid is between them and us.
Selling
You may only list things you own and are allowed to sell. Describe them honestly, including the condition. Post them when you say you will.
We take a commission on each sale, calculated on the item and the postage, and the rate that applies is shown to you before you list. Payouts go through Stripe, and you will need to complete Stripe's checks before you can be paid. Some categories cannot be sold here at all, and the site says which and why at the moment you try.
You may stop selling at any time, but not while an order is unfinished or money is still moving. Finish those first. Your closed shop's past orders stay on the buyers' records.
Returns and things going wrong
Raise it on the order, and the seller is told. If the two of you cannot agree, we will decide, and while it is open the money stays held. We will refund a buyer out of held money where an item never arrived or is not what was described.
What you may not do
- Sell counterfeit goods, or anything you do not have the right to sell.
- Take payment or arrange a sale off the site to avoid the commission. The protection above only exists on an order we can see.
- Upload somebody else's photographs, or anything illegal, hateful, or sexual.
- Use the site to harass another person.
- Scrape it, break it, or try to reach data that is not yours.
We can suspend or close an account that does these things, and we will say why.
Your photographs and words
They stay yours. By putting them here you let us show them on the site and use them to run it, which includes sending a photograph to the services named in the privacy policy so it can be read or have its background removed. That permission ends when you remove the photograph, except where it is part of an order somebody has already placed.
What we do not promise
ShopMouse is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available or always be free of faults, and we do not vouch for any individual seller or item. We are not responsible for the condition of a thing another person sold you, beyond the protection described above.
Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law where you live.
Closing your account
You can close it whenever you like, once nothing is outstanding. What survives that, and why, is in the privacy policy.
Changes
We will change these terms from time to time and change the date at the top. If a change matters to you, for example to the commission, we will tell you before it takes effect.
